Happy birthday National museum of Finland

Hello sweeties,

Today I visited in National museum of Finland. They had open doors today coz today is birthday of the museum. It has been open for 100 years. Which makes the museum older than Finland. Finland became independent country in 1917. And also the company I work started their business in 1917, so next year we will have a big party at work. Anyhow, I should be writing about todays birthday hero; National Museum of Finland.

When I arrived to the museum it was full of people. But I was one of the lucky ones who had cake and coffee. I read on FB that 2000 first visitors will have cake and coffee. The cake was really good. It tasted a bit like Runeberg's tart , mostly coz I tasted bitter almond on the cake. After the cake and coffee I went to see exhibition about Jean Sibelius and it was brilliant. I gonna go to see it again some other day when the museum isn't full of people. One of the staff members said that the exhibition is really much bigger so I have seen only small part of it. The great part of Jean Sibelius exhibition was that visitors were able to listen samples of his music. There was one sample which I fell in love. I simply felt happy when I listened it. This musical master piece is called as "Violin Concerto" I hope you'll like it too.

This painting you can find also in Ateneum art museum.

Notes of Sibelius. German edition.

Belongings of Sibelius.

Trend from 20's, all stuffs are from Sibelius home.

Edgar Allan Poe's poem in German.

After brilliant Sibelius exhibition I went to see couple others exhibitions. I liked them too but not as much as Sibelius exhibition.

If you're ever coming in Finland and Helsinki, I suggest you to visit National museum of Helsinki. There you'll learn a lot about Finlands history. Maybe visiting the museum helps you to understand better this melancholic nation.

Till next time!

Travel Fair

Hello sweeties,

This weekend I visited in Travel Fair in Helsinki. I went there with a friend who with I like to travel.  Basicly it was a bit like travelling around the world in a day. I found some really awesome destinations, domestic and foreign. I really liked the domestic area on the fair. People quite often forgets that there's lot to see in their homeland when they're planning a trip.

So let's talk about travelling now. As some of you might know, I love to travel. Usually when I have a vacation I pack my stuffs and travel. This year I wanted to find some cool destinations, mostly in Asia and Middle East. I got booklets about Bali and Jordan. Both places that I like to visit some day. I also got booklets about travelling in USA. I have planned a road trip in Route 66 with my friend quite a while and now we wanted to have some info coz we really wanna do that trip some day. O yes, I also found booklet about Rhine Valley, Germany. Another destination that I really loooove to visit. Maybe this summer.
I also got booklets different destinations in Finland. For example Lapland and The Archipelago trail near to Turku.

In general I liked the fair. I got what I wanted and now I can start to plan new trips.

Lux Helsinki

Hello sweeties,

This evening I went to Lux light carneval in Helsinki. This year it was awesome! Better than last year. This time all the artworks were the centre of Helsinki which was a huge plus. I had a nice walk in centre of Helsinki with my friend.

Here is a map of the festival area.

I have always liked Lux Helsinki coz it brings a little light to one of the darkest seasons in Finland. This year all the colors looked particularly beautiful coz we had a little snow on the ground. Actually it had snowed all day.

Here is my favorite photos from the festival. Enjoy! Let there be light!

Heureka!

Hello sweeties,

Today I had absolutely fantastic day. I spend most of the day at science centre Heureka cleaning the pieces of comb ceramic vases. So basicly my day was full of archaeology from comb ceramic era. Last summer I spend a day at archeologic diggings in Jokiniemi. There was one of the biggist comb ceramic area in Finland. The biggest in southern Finland. Anyhow, today was finally the day when we had opportunity to clean the foundings.

Soon I found out that it's really easy job to do. Basicly all you need is a toothbrush.

On this photo you can see all the tools I used to clean the findings.

This piece of vase I found last summer! I was suprised to see it front of me again!

After 6 hours of cleaning the findings I took a part a lecture about last summers diggings. I also heard a new information about upcoming diggings. I really loooooove to take part one in Hanko. There's diggings in nazi camp. From Hanko they moved around the Finland or back to Germany. Anyhow, since I am interested of WW2 and history in general it would be awesome to take a part the diggings in Hanko. If you are interested to know more about the diggings you can read a little something about it here: Deutsches Lager Hanko 1942-1944  On the same site you find more information about the comb ceramic diggings in Jokiniemi.

Hello sweeties!

Hello again! I'm back home! I went to Estonia, Tallinn to celebrate New Year with my friends. We stayed there 2 nights. We arrived in Tallinn on New Year's Eve. First we booked in the hotel and the we had New Year's Eve dinner in a nice restaurant called as Kolm Sibulat, in English it's Three Onions. After the dinner we walked to the Freedom Square to see the fireworks. After the fireworks were quite tired so we walked back to the hotel for a drinks.

After spa we got ready for the evening. On evening we had dinner in garlic restaurant in old town. After the dinner we went to DM Bar. I loved that bar, it was all about Depeche Mode.
